Get paid to train AI: remote recording, transcription and data annotation from home.

Spirelight is where you get paid to train AI from home. The work is simple and paid per task: you record short spoken prompts, transcribe audio, verify other people's transcripts, and label the speech data that voice models learn from. People call these remote AI training jobs, transcription jobs from home, data annotation and data labelling work, or voice recording jobs. None of them need a degree or a line of code.

Most tasks take minutes, not hours. You pick the projects that fit your schedule, see the fixed payout before you accept, and get paid once a human reviewer approves your work. If you speak a less common language or have a regional accent, you are worth more here than you might expect, because that data is scarce. New to it? Start with our honest guide on how to get paid to train AI as a freelancer, or read what an AI trainer actually does.

Why join

Voice tech is only as good as the people behind it.

Most speech datasets still miss regional accents, multilingual speakers, and everyday conversational speech.

Every phrase you record and every line you transcribe helps production AI systems understand real people across languages, dialects, and underrepresented communities.

Your contributions go directly into active training and evaluation pipelines used in real-world voice products.

Why contributors stay

Three things you actually get from us.

01

Work on your own terms

Pick the projects that fit your schedule. Record from a quiet room at home, on a laptop or a phone. No fixed shifts, no minimum hours, no pressure to take work that does not suit you.

02

Paid for every task

Each task shows its fixed payout before you accept it. When your work clears review, the payment is released to your account. Quality contributors get invited back first, with priority on the projects that match their profile.

03

Train the models people use

Your voice ends up in datasets that train assistants, in-car systems, accessibility tools, and call routing. The accents and dialects you bring are the ones generic data is missing.

Payment

You always know what a task pays.

No vague promises and no unpaid trials. Every task carries a fixed price that you see up front, so you can decide if it is worth your time before you start.

Fixed price

Set per task, shown up front

Before you accept any task, you see exactly what it pays. The rate is agreed up front and does not change after you submit.

Paid on approval

Released when your work clears review

Once a human reviewer approves your submission, the payout is added to your contributor account. No invoices to chase.

No surprises

Every payout is human reviewed

Approvals are done by people, not a black box. If something needs a fix, you hear why and get the chance to resubmit.

Questions

Getting paid to train AI, answered.

The things people ask before they start. If yours is not here, write to contributors@spirelight.net.

Can you really get paid to train AI from home?

Yes. Companies pay people to record speech, transcribe audio, verify transcripts, and label the data models learn from, and most of it is remote and paid per task. On Spirelight every task shows a fixed payout before you accept it, and a human reviews your work before you are paid.

Do I need experience or a degree to do AI training jobs?

No. Most speech and data tasks need no coding and no formal qualifications. You mainly need a quiet space, a recent phone or a laptop with a decent microphone, a stable connection, and the patience to follow a brief exactly. Care and consistency matter more than a CV.

What equipment do I need?

For recording work, a recent smartphone or a laptop with a clear built-in or USB microphone is usually enough. A quiet room with little echo makes a bigger difference than expensive gear. For transcription and data annotation, a computer and headphones are all you need.

Which languages and accents are in demand?

All of them, and the scarce ones pay off most. Generic datasets miss regional accents, dialects, and less common languages, so if you speak one of those you are genuinely valuable here. You tell us your languages and dialects when you build your speaker profile.

Are AI training jobs legit, or is it a scam?

Legitimate work means you apply, do a sample task, and get paid by the company. It is a scam if you are asked to pay a fee, buy a kit, or share banking passwords before you work. Spirelight never charges you to join, and every payout is reviewed by a real person. We wrote a full guide on how to tell real AI training jobs from the scams.

Is this like Outlier, DataAnnotation or Appen, and how is Spirelight different?

Those are large crowd platforms that pay people for AI data tasks, and they are legitimate in the sense that they pay for completed work. Spirelight is smaller and speech-first: we focus on recording, transcribing and labelling voice data, we match you to projects by your language and accent instead of a generic queue, and a real person reviews every payout. If you speak with a regional accent or in a less common language, that focus is usually where you earn more.

How fast can I start and get paid?

You can register and build your speaker profile in a few minutes. After that it depends on when a project matches your language and accent profile. When one does, you accept the task, complete it, and the fixed payout is released to your account once your work clears human review.

Enterprise Data Partnership

Documentation & process knowledge

Compensation $100,000 to $2,000,000 USD Based on dataset size, workflow complexity, uniqueness, data quality, and domain expertise.
30 to 200 employees Mature workflows Documented processes

Most companies have spent years building unique internal knowledge: how work gets done, how decisions are made, how customers are handled, and how complex processes are managed. This operational knowledge is becoming increasingly valuable as AI systems are trained to better understand real-world business environments.

We are currently inviting a limited number of selected companies to participate in a paid AI data partnership, where valuable business processes, workflows, and documentation may help improve future AI capabilities. Nothing new has to be created: software guides, training decks, standard operating procedures, internal wikis, and process documents already exist, and modern AI can learn a great deal from them.

Your company may be a potential fit if it already runs on mature, well documented ways of working. Compensation for enterprise partnerships is significant, agreed up front, and scales with the size, uniqueness, and quality of what you contribute. Register below to get on the list, and we will reach out if there is a match.

Frontline Operations Data Partnership

Frontline & deskless operations

Compensation $100,000 to $400,000 USD Based on dataset size, diversity of frontline contexts, uniqueness of operational knowledge, data quality and recency, and the range of frontline roles represented.
7,000 to 20,000 users Frontline & deskless teams Microsoft Teams

Many companies track highly valuable operational knowledge every day without realizing it, often on paper or in informal tools. This project focuses on how frontline and deskless teams coordinate and track work on the ground: shift handoffs, huddle notes, task trackers, and the everyday records that keep real-world operations running.

We are inviting a limited number of selected companies with large frontline workforces to participate in a paid AI data partnership. Nothing new has to be created. The records your teams already generate can help train and evaluate AI systems on realistic frontline operational settings. We believe the teams that keep real-world operations running should participate in the value created by the next generation of AI systems.

Your company may be a fit if it runs an active frontline or deskless workforce that uses Microsoft Teams, operates in manufacturing, travel, transport, hospitality, or healthcare, and has recent operational activity. Compensation is significant, agreed up front, and scales with the size, diversity, and quality of what you contribute. Register below and we will reach out if there is a match.
