WORK WITH SPIRELIGHT
AI voice training jobs involve recording speech, transcribing audio, checking transcripts or labelling data. Create a free Spirelight contributor profile to be considered for relevant remote projects; availability and eligibility depend on the individual project.
Project requirements vary. Creating a profile does not guarantee work.

Explore the workThe examples below show speech-data work a project may request. Its brief should explain the recording or labelling instructions, acceptance rules, equipment and payment unit. Confirm those details before spending time on an offer.
| Task type | Example work | Check in the brief |
|---|---|---|
| Voice recording | Read a script or speak on a specified topic. Follow the requested language, pronunciation, room conditions and microphone setup; listen back before submitting. | Clip count and length, permitted devices, file format and retake rules |
| Transcription | Type what is said in a recording using its style guide. Check how to handle hesitations, overlapping speech, numbers and words in another language. | Audio duration, transcript style, timestamps and how unclear words are marked |
| Transcript verification | Compare an existing transcript with the recording and correct the differences allowed by the task. Do not assume an automated transcript is accurate. | Whether to edit text, timestamps or labels, and how changes are assessed |
| Data annotation | Apply a defined set of labels to audio or text: for example, speaker changes, intent or clip usability. Use the same definitions throughout rather than guessing from the label name. | Label definitions, examples, edge cases and the number of items |
Scroll the table sideways on a narrow screen. Audio duration is not the time needed to complete a task: preparation, listening, checking and corrections all take time. If you are new to the field, read what an AI trainer does before you sign up.
Check the written offer for the amount, currency and payable unit: an accepted clip, an audio minute, a batch or a tracked hour are different things. For a Spirelight invitation, confirm the task payout and approval requirements in the project brief. This page does not quote a current pay range.
For a fixed-price task, divide the amount payable for accepted work by all the time you expect to spend. Include reading the brief, setup, recording or typing, checks, uploads and any permitted corrections. Then consider payout fees and tax separately. An hourly equivalent does not establish available hours or regular income.
Illustrative calculation, not a pay offer: imagine a batch pays $6 if accepted. You spend 15 minutes reading and setting up, 30 minutes doing and checking the work, and 15 minutes on corrections and upload. That is 60 minutes in total, so the gross equivalent is $6 ÷ 1 hour = $6 per hour, before fees or tax. Different time or acceptance outcomes change the result.
Use the fixed-price task checker with your own figures. Before any qualification exercise, ask whether it is paid, what is assessed and how much work it requires. Joining Spirelight is free; an invitation or a completed profile is not a guarantee of earnings.
Check what the offered amount covers and which work is payable. Save the accepted brief, including any conditions for changes or rejection.
Ask about acceptance criteria, who handles review, corrections and disputes, then confirm the payout method, schedule, fees and any withdrawal threshold.
You can create a Spirelight contributor profile for free. Check any qualification terms before taking part; do not pay for the promise of a job or to unlock earnings.
A task's workload and what may happen to the recordings are separate questions. For example, “read a script” describes the work; it does not explain permitted uses of the audio or a resulting model.
In guidance for film and TV performers, Equity, the UK performers' union, recommends asking about intended voice uses, AI training and storage. Use the questions below to clarify the offer you are considering.
Is this for recognising words, generating speech, reproducing your voice, or a combination? What future uses does the permission cover?
Who may receive or license the audio or a resulting model, for which purposes and for how long? What does the payment cover?
What is the process for asking to withdraw or delete recordings? Ask how it affects stored originals, shared copies and already trained models, and what cannot be undone.
Resolve these questions in the actual agreement before accepting. Rights and options depend on its terms and the applicable rules; this page does not establish a deletion right, a reuse licence or coverage by a union agreement.
Start by understanding the task, then check whether you meet its actual requirements. A general preparation page cannot confirm your eligibility.
Recording a script and building an AI model are different skills. Read the brief for language, reading ability, location, age, experience and any qualification requirements. Describe your skills accurately; completing practice does not qualify you for a project or ensure another invitation.
Try a short recording with the equipment you already own and listen for noise, clipping and echo. Compare it with the project requirements before buying anything. Our audio checker can help you inspect a file; it does not assess every acceptance condition or guarantee approval.
Projects can ask for particular languages, regional accents, dialects or code-switching. List what you genuinely speak and read, and describe your location and variety accurately. A language being listed in a guide does not mean a matching project is open or that it pays a higher rate.
Use the language and country guides for preparation and questions to ask. The individual project determines eligibility and availability.
Practice listening, compare transcription styles, check a short recording and work out the time a task may take. These resources need no account. They are for preparation, not qualification or a promise of project acceptance.
Start with English audio and answer keys, then see how a clean transcript differs from the words as spoken.
Check what you already own before buying equipment. The audio checker processes short files in your browser, without uploading them.
The German and Brazilian Portuguese guides use written examples and exercises in those languages. Always follow the actual project's style guide.
Check any offer independently, including one using our name. The US Federal Trade Commission warns about task scams that demand deposits to unlock supposed earnings. Its job-scam guidance also recommends checking the company and avoiding fake-check schemes. A website, logo or message is not proof of a genuine offer.
| Check | Before you proceed |
|---|---|
| Cost to join | Creating a Spirelight contributor profile is free. Do not pay a recruiter for a promised job or deposit money to release supposed earnings. Buying equipment for your own use is a different decision; check a genuine brief before spending. |
| Pay visibility | Get the task, payable amount, acceptance rules and any qualification conditions in writing. Stop and ask if the scope or payment unit is unclear. |
| Review and payout | Confirm review timing, permitted corrections, rejection or dispute steps and the payout schedule. Keep your brief and submission record so you can follow up on an overdue approved payment. |
| Availability | Projects open in waves and may need particular languages, locations and equipment. Creating a profile does not guarantee invitations, work or a starting date. Check the specific invitation rather than assuming this page is an open vacancy. |
Scroll the table sideways on a narrow screen. Open the official portal from this page and read its privacy and contract terms before providing personal or payout information. Do not share passwords or verification codes with a recruiter. For more preparation, see AI training sites that pay and how to identify legitimate AI training jobs.
Create a profile, check any relevant invitation and confirm its terms before doing the work.
Complete the fields marked as required in the official signup form. Review the separate email and WhatsApp work-offer choices, give accurate language details, and read the terms and privacy policy before deciding to register. Follow any next steps shown by the portal.
If you receive an invitation, read the task, language and location requirements, device rules, payable amount and any qualification conditions. Ask about missing terms before accepting. A profile does not guarantee an invitation.
Follow the agreed submission instructions and save your records. Check the review decision and payment schedule stated for that project. Ask the project contact about corrections, disputed work or an overdue approved payment.
Schedules differ by project and platform. Before accepting, confirm the approval window, payout method, payment schedule, fees and any withdrawal threshold in the written terms. Approval of work and withdrawal of money are separate stages; do not assume a generic weekly or monthly schedule.
A company name or a list cannot establish whether your particular work will be paid. Check the company independently and get the task and payment terms in writing. Keep the agreed brief, submission and review records, and ask the project contact about any approved payment overdue under those terms.
Check the unit in the actual offer. A fixed task payout, an audio-minute rate and a tracked hourly rate are different. For a fixed-price task, divide the amount payable for accepted work by your total preparation, task and correction time; consider fees and tax separately. Use the task checker with your own figures.
This page describes a contributor network for project-based opportunities, not an offer of employment or a specific vacancy. Read the actual invitation and contract for the work arrangement, eligibility, required availability and payment terms. Do not assume an employment status from the word jobs or from creating a profile.
Assess the specific offer. The FTC recommends independent company checks and warns against paying for a promised job or forwarding money from a supposed employer’s check. A request to deposit money to unlock supposed task earnings is also a scam warning. See our AI training job safety guide for more questions to ask.
There is no current earnings range quoted on this page. Check the project’s payable amount, currency, acceptance rules and payment unit. A fixed-price task is not an hourly wage: include preparation, doing the task and corrections when estimating your effective rate. Available work and acceptance are not guaranteed.
Remote speech-data work can include recording, transcription, transcript checks and annotation. Whether a particular task is available to you, accepted and payable depends on its actual brief and terms. A free Spirelight contributor profile makes you available for consideration; it does not guarantee work or earnings.
Requirements depend on the task. Check the brief for language and reading ability, location, age, experience, devices and any qualification exercise. Do not assume every task needs a degree or that every task accepts beginners. Our beginner preparation guide and practice tools help you prepare; they do not qualify you for a project.
Check the project’s permitted devices, microphone, file format and recording conditions. Try what you already own before buying equipment for an unconfirmed offer. Headphones and a suitable keyboard can help with listening and text work. A preparation checklist or audio-checker result does not guarantee task acceptance.
A project may require a particular language, regional accent, dialect or code-switching pattern. Describe what you genuinely speak and read, then check the invitation’s requirements. No language listing on this page confirms a current opening or a higher pay rate. Use the language and country guides to prepare.
Those names appear in the broader AI-data work category. Spirelight’s contributor page focuses on speech recording, transcription, transcript checks and annotation. Compare each specific offer for eligibility, task type, review and payment terms; this page does not certify another platform’s current openings, rates or reliability.
There is no guaranteed starting date or payment timeline from registering. Complete the required fields in the official form and follow the portal’s next instructions. Email and WhatsApp work-offer choices are optional. If you receive a relevant project invitation, check the qualification, review and payment terms before accepting.
